Saturday wet lab information:
Amy Butzier will give 2 sessions on bandaging. A small animal wet lab will be held in Robinson Hall on the NDSU
campus. An equine wet lab will be held in the vet tech barn north of the NDSU campus at 15th Ave N and 18th St.
Mark Wieland, DVM will give 2 sessions on equine radiology. Both sessions will be held in the vet tech barn north of the NDSU campus at 15th Ave N and 18th St.

SPEAKER INFORMATION

Michael Trythall, MS received his BS in Microbiology in 1978 ; and his MS in Human Genetics 1982. Mike joined the staff of the ND Public Health Lab in 1984.  He has been closely involved with rabies diagnostic testing for over 25 years and continues to be the lead microbiologist for ND in the interpretation of rabies slides. 

Kirby Kruger joined the North Dakota Department of Health in 1989. In 2000, he assumed duties as the Division of Disease Control's senior epidemiologist. He was named state epidemiologist and division director in 2005.

Roger Lange has worked in sales, management, and training for many years. Over the last 5 years, he has worked specifically in Learning and Development and has specialized in creating, developing, and presenting training programs for sales people, management personnel, and distribution partners. He is a training specialist with Pfizer Parmaceuticals and is a certified DISC trainer.

 Dennis Hermesch, DVM received his DVM from K-State in 1981. He practiced in southeast Nebraska in a mixed cow-calf and dairy practice for 24 years. Dr. Hermesch joined KSU Veterinary School Faculty section in 2005. After receiving his Master’s in Veterinary Biomedical Sciences in May of 2007, he went to work for Novartis as a Professional Services Veterinarian.

Amy Butzier BS, MEd, CVT graduated from Mount Ida College Vet. Tech. program in Newton Centre, MA and earned her master's degree in Education from the American Intercontinental Univ. She is a faculty member in the Vet. Tech. Program at Mount Ida College. Currently she is on the organizing committee for the new Academy of Equine Vet. Nursing Techs and is also the Chairwoman for the Committee on Vet. Tech. Specialties.

Mark Wieland, DVM is a 1980 graduate of the University of Minnesota.  He is a partner of Casselton Veterinary Service and has 30 years of clinical experience with a special interest in horses.
Jonathan Marohl graduated from North Dakota State University in 2000 with a Bachelors degree in Animal and Range Science.  Since then he has had experience in the Feed Industry, Registered Angus Business, and the Animal Health Industry, and has taught Animal Science at Bismarck State College. Currently he is working for Novartis Animal Health as a Territory Manager.

Patrick McKeever, MS, DVM, DACVD
Allergy, Ear and Skin specialist and practice owner  of McKeever Dermatology, Inc.  He founded the Veterinary Dermatology departrment at the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Mn in 1971 and was department head until he left the university in the summer of 1998 to focus on his private practice.

DISC training session: The morning session of  the conference is designed to give you an opportunity to understand yourself and your natural behavioral style, as well as that of your co-workers and clients.  In order for this workshop to be effective, you are asked to  complete the online assessment in advance of the workshop, read it, and bring the report to the conference.  As soon as you are registered, send an  e-mail to me at the address below. In turn, your access code will be e-mailed to you approximately 2 weeks before the conference. This is the best way to keep spam filters from preventing  the access code being sent to you.  The assessment is done online and will take about 30 minutes of your time.
