Meet The Team

Miranda Langerud- President

Randi is a native of Bismarck and graduated from North Dakota State University in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Veterinary Technology. She became licensed in December of 2010. She likes to spend her free time horseback riding with her husband and son. She also enjoys reading, being outside, and getting together with friends. She has several pets including a dog, 3 cats, 3 horses, a guinea pig, and a rabbit.

Whitney Cole - President Elect

Whitney is originally from Devils Lake, ND where she grew up on a small grain farm and learned at a very young age her passion/love for animals! She was very active through her childhood with the local horse show association (NDSHSA Princess 2003), 4H and eventually onto high school rodeo! She graduated from Dickinson State University with her AAS in Equine Industries Management degree in 2009, then went onto graduate from Eastern Wyoming College in Torrington, Wyoming for her AAS in Veterinary Technology in 2013. She was the secretary in the Vet Tech club at EWC! She became licensed in 2014 and has worked at 3 mixed animal practices including one in South Dakota. She lives on a farm by Lakota, ND with her husband Chris and their toddler, Gus! They have a funny farm in progress, with a Yorkie named Calvin & 5 ranch kitties leading the way!

Jennifer Hopkins- Secretary & Website

 

Jen was born and raised in Bismarck and graduated from Minnesota School of Business in 2011 with an Associate of Science degree in Veterinary Technology.  She became Licensed in April 2012. She has worked in 2 different mixed animal practices and her special interests are Horses, dogs and canine allergies. She and her husband John and their 2 children live 45 miles from Fargo.  She likes to spend her free time riding 4 wheeler, on the back of her husbands motorcycle, gardening, camping and playing with her kids.  She has one dog, 2 cats, a ball python and 2 fish.

Lynn Priebe - Executive Director

 Lynn was raised on a small hog/crop farm in central Minnesota where she learned her passion for animals.  She graduated from NDSU with a BS in Veterinary Technology in 1993.  She worked for Valley City Veterinary Hospital until 2009, then went to Casselton Vet Service until her son was born in November 2013.  She has worked for 21 years as a licensed veterinary technician.  Currently, she is working for Thunderbird Ranch Gourmet Foods/Amberland Foods. She is also doing relief vet tech work for clinics.  She has been a member of the NDVTA since graduating in 1993.  Around 1995 she became treasurer of the association for several years then went on to become President elect, President, and Past President.  She has held those offices 3 times.  She has been the Executive Advisor to the Association for about 8 years.  She also is the first licensed veterinary technician to be appointed to the ND Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners. She is married to Steve and they have one son, David.  She also has a Yorkshire terrier named Mort.  Though, she is not currently working as a full time vet tech, she does keep up to date on things going on and has passion and love for our profession.

Gail White - Treasurer

Sara Cox - Past President

Sara grew up in the Dickinson area and graduated from the Minnesota School of Business in 2011 with an Associate of Science degree in Veterinary Technology. she has a special interest in small animal dentistry and client education. Sara and her husband reside in Taylor and have a variety of pets to take care of, including a Boston Terrier / Pug mix, a Lab, and three cats.  In her free time she likes to bake cakes and desserts for friends and family and also pet sit for the community. 

Stacey Ostby -Newsletter

She grew up in rural Larimore, ND on a small grain, potato, and sugar beet farm. She attended NDSU and graduated with her BS in Veterinary Technology in 2002. She then worked at Petcetera Animal Clinic in Grand Forks, ND until 2009 when she joined the teaching faculty of the NDSU Vet Tech Program. She became Co-Director of the program in 2012 and continues to enjoy her position very much. She will complete her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership Winter 2018. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and son, riding horse, gardening, home improvement projects, and motorcycling with her husband. They are blessed with a French bulldog, a mastiff mix, a German shepherd, two paint geldings, 6 farm cats, 1 dairy steer, 39 laying hens, and 2 roosters. (no partridge in a pear tree haha) Life is good in the country!
